In June 2025, I attended ICA where I was part of of a panel called, “Resurrecting Platform Pasts: Learning From Research on Defunct, Dead, or Obsolete Social Media Platforms” organized and moderated by Frances Corry and Chelsea Butkowski. We reflected on what we can learn from research about now-defunct or obsolete social media platforms. It was a great conversation with fellow panelists Lori Kido Lopez, Alice Marwick, and Goubin Yang! In another session, I presented my research on Prison TikTok, discussing how currently incarcerated people resist, reframe, and reinforce incarceration stigmas on social media.

In May 2025, I attended my first LSA (Law & Society Association). I partook on a panel with Maria Adams, Lucy Vincent, and Julie Parsons where we discussed Prison Food Practices across the US and UK.

Got to reunite with many different people, meet new people and learn about some really interesting research, attend my first doctoral colloquium, and chair a panel on “Mobile Platforms”. This picture is from the final night of AoIR – in a booked out Reading Terminal!
